Security of any establishment is a major concern for the authorities. Be it a bank, a mall, a company or an organization, the security measures are as important for these establishments as the administration and other departments. Security jobs have gained unprecedented importance today. These are the days of uncertainties, unrest, conflicts and crimes. Terrorism has become a major threat for any business. Hence appointing efficient security guards has become necessary.
The main job responsibility for a security guard is to patrol commercial and industrial premises and prevent or take actions against any intrusion or untoward incident. The job is risky and hence remunerations are handsome. Salaries vary from field to field depending upon the nature of work and the element of risk involved.
Security guards appointed for public safety and security should have sound knowledge of security equipment, procedures, policies and strategies set for maintaining law and order in the region.
As a security guard, the candidate should be fit; both physically and mentally. He should be able to handle stressful situations efficiently. These days computational skills and communication skills too have become the important criteria in the selection procedure of security guards.
Those who are interested in security jobs should be ready to work hard and even for long durations. Security officers have to undergo rigorous training which makes them fit for their job.
